Thomas Barrow removed from Edgecombe>HalifaxCoNC to Onslow by 30 Jan 1761 buying 300 acres from Lewis Williams on the Southwest Br of New River adjoining William Wilkins, likely also from Edgecombe>Halifax. This Thomas Barrow is not connected to Abraham Barrow of PittCoNC who arrived in Onslow in 1765 and settled on Cowhorn Swp. Thomas Barrow died soon thereafter leaving a will naming his second wife Elizabeth, sons Hosea, Jacob, James, Moses and Thomas and executors Henry Rhoads and Wm Wilkins. Hosea Barrow the only surviving child by Thomas' first marriage to Mary Killebrew inherited the above plantation. Hosea Barrow married Mary unknown before 1775 and possibly second to Sarah unknown by 1785. He had Killebrew cousins in adjoining JonesCo by 1779. He is not in the 1790 Onslow census and probably sold out in 1785. He was connected to the following in Onslow deed/estate records: Isaac Winkless/Winckles, Moses Cox Jr.(a Charles Cox of Onslow deeded land in Edge! combe>Halifax in 1753), Darby Larey, Isaac Kelpin, Jeduthen Gibson, Jonathan Murray and James Kibbles, among others. Any clues as to where Hosea Barrow may have gone would be greatly appreciated.

The 13 Apr 1795 Onslow marriage bond of John Jarman and Elizabeth Killigrove (sic) was signed by Lawrence Jarman, bondsman. Elizabeth Killebrew was daughter of John Killebrew, an RW soldier who died abt 1781. John and his brother Hinchey Killebrew were in adjoining JonesCo by 1779. The will of John Jarman Sr. (wife Elizabeth) was probated in Onslow in November 1842. The children are believed to be Braddock, Mary, John Jr., Thomas, Luke and Sarah. Are there others? Elizabeth Killebrew Jarman had a sister, Sarah, who was married to a Watson prior to 1818.
