I am searching for the parents of Julia STYRON. In the 1850 census she is living with her married sister Euphema STYRON ELLIS (husband Bannister ELLIS) in Onslow County. In 1853 she married Edward Starkey MCGOWAN and in the 1860 census they are listed as Starkey and Julia Gowan. Edward STARKEY was killed in the Civil War and Julia continued to live with her children. In the 1870 census she is living alone with her four children, still in Onslow County. In the 1880 Census her son William has his own household with his younger brother living with him. Julia and the two girls are not shown. Family verbal history say Julia is buried in Onslow County but I have been unable to prove it. I have been told Julia is probably from somewhere on the coast but so far I have not been able to find out where. I would welcome any information about Julia's parents, where she was born, whether she remarried, and when she died. Thank You. .

I'm looking for someone who has a knowledge of Ezekiel WHALEY of the 1790 Census that may be related to the Samuel WHALEY, SR. family of Duplin County. There are four households mentioned on the Duplin Census of 1790: James, William, Samuel, and Francis WHALEY. Samuel WHALEY, SR. has 4 sons: Samuel Jr., James, Kinsey, and Daniel WHALEY. I have information on the first 3 sons.

HEIDELBERG, Catherine MCCLAMMEY. One of her descendants is McClammey HEIDELBERG and I am trying to fit him into our family. My great-grandmother was Mary Elizabeth HEIDELBERG and I think that possibly McClammey was her grandfather. Mary was born 1845 in Georgia. Any help would be appreciated.

a#LITTLETONLITTLETON posted by Terry Littleton on Wednesday, November 18, 1998

Hi, I'm looking for any information on a Southy LITTLETON who appeared in Onslow Co in the late 1700's. He was the first Southy, there were several descendants. I'm trying to find where he came from. A history that was written on the Littletons of early Onslow Co, states that he brought immigrants from England on his own ship but I can find no record of this. If anyone has put together any family trees of the early Littletons, I'd appreciate it. Zachariah, Southy and Thomas were some of the early names. I have the information on Isaac D and Amanda LITTLETON but don't know his parents names. He might be related to Southy but how?

I'm also extremely interested in the family tree of Tucker Reed LITTLETON who established the Genealogy room at the Onslow Co, Library. In this capacity, I would think of all things that he would have compiled a chart of his ancestors but all I can find is mention of his father in his obit.

Does anyone on here live in Onslow and go to the library occasionally? Could you check and see if any research exists on Tucker Reed Littleton?

Thanks so much - Terry Littleton (sponsor of LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com)
