I am looking for the descendents of James Whaley, Jr. of Onslow Co. He had an Estate without a Will in 1794. He had 8 children, wife unknown. He had property in Duplin and Onslow. His executors sold 200 acres in Duplin 1794.
1. James Whaley, Jr. +Unknown
2. Mahala Whaley b. Nov. 1, 1783 in Onslow County, NC.
+John Lancaster of England
2. Sarah Whaley b. Abt. 1794
2. Richard Whaley
2. John Whaley
2. Dolly Whaley
2. Nancy Whaley
2. Thursey Whaley
2. Milly Whaley
All of the children were under the age of 21 in 1794 and they were appointed guardians named Lemuel Williams and Jonathan Wilder. The names of the Executors of his Estate were Samuel Whaley, Lemuel Williams and Jonathan Wilder. Lemuel Williams and Jonathan Wilder are the Executors to the Estate in Duplin County of 200 acres. There is a James Whaley on the Duplin 1790 Census. I am thinking that they are the same person. There was a James Whaley of Onslow Co. who sold 200 acres of land in Duplin to Joseph Thigpen of Glasgow in 1793. I am thinking that he is the father of James Whaley, Jr. of Onslow Co.
If you have any connection to this family whether you are a Whaley or married to a Whaley from this family, I would like to hear from you and am willing to share info with you. Thanks in advance. Keith Whaley of Duplin County.
