I am searching for family of Robert B. Payne, born around 1800 in Onslow, NC. There seems to be several discrepancies around his date of birth-one date is 1804 and another is 1790 or so. He married Mahalie Dearman sometime in 1820's, and we do know they are buried together in St. Clair County, AL, and that he died there in 1851. If anyone runs across some Payne's in Onslow around the turn of the 1800's, I'd love to know about them. Thanks!

Looking for info on Francis (Frances) Meadows. He married Mary Jane (Wilson) and had James Wilson Meadows b. Oct 10, 1827 in Onslow County, NC. They left NC about the beginning of the Civil War. The story that has been passed down is Frances (is) was not mad and wasn't gonna fight. I have no idea if this is true. If any one has info please let me know. Thanks, Kaye
