My great-grandfather was JOHN HUMPHREY who married ISABELLA WHITE in 1844 - Richlands, N.C. He was born in 1821 and died in 1867 I believe. I have found her gravesite in Richlands, but cannot find his. I know that his mother's name was SALLY HUMPHREY who died in 1844, but I can't figure out who she was married to. Does anyone have any facts on this family line?? Please contact me via e-mail and take a moment to visit my home page. Thanks

I am trying to get information concerning my grandmother, Beulah MERRITT(?) GODWIN. To the best of my knowledge, she came from the Swansboro area, She would have been born in the late 1890`s. She died in Rocky Mount in Feb. of 1966, approximately 67-68 years old. There were two sisters, that I know of, only in passing. One was Tempe(?) and I belive that she married and continued to live in North Carolina. The other one was called Lou. I don`t know just what her full name was. I do know that she moved to, and worked in, Richmond, Virginia. She was never married. I do not know if there were any other siblings. Beulah married William Henry KEEL, had two children while living in the Swansboro area. One was my aunt, Eleanor KEEL, the other, my father, Thomas Hardy KEEL. There was never anything said about her early life. Of course, with her, my parents, my aunts, all gone, there isn`t any way to learn anything about her personally. As children, we never think about things like that....then, before we come to realize how important these lives were, in forming and shaping our own lives, it is too late. At some point, after the birth of my aunt and father, the family moved to Rocky Mount. After the birth of another child, Ruby, my grandfather left his family and moved to Norfolk, Virginia. All that I know after that was that Beulah and her children were very poor. I would like to get any and all information concerning her and her family that I can. I am attempting to write a history, of sorts, for my children and grandchildren so that they will know something about my life, and my ancestors. Any information of any sort would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any help that you can offer concerning the family of Beulah M. GODWIN. Sincerely,

Do you have any information(or knowledge) of a Maxwell Family(either Hugh or William) who migrated to Georgia in the early 1800s(possibly 1808 or earlier)? They likely migrated from Jones(or possibly Onslow Counties). Any assistance you may lend will be greatly appreciated. Additionally, anyone in the area who has researched the Maxwell line would be appreciated. Thanks so very much for your time and attention in this matter. Sincerely,

My ancestor, William MILLS, Sr. died 1768. He had 16 children. Among them was James Mills, who was married to Rebecca Hicks and resided mostly in Duplin County. James and Rebecca were my 4th gr gps. William Mills Sr. did not leave a Will, but his estate was put thru Probate and was finalized about 1772. The earliest record I have of him was a Land Grant in 1738 in Onslow County. A Carr Family History mentions that Anna GERSTER/GARSTER baptized 21 January 1720 in Switzerland married William Mills of Onslow County. I do not know where William Mills came from. Was he an original immigrant? Who were his parents, and where did they come from? Several of Wm Mills' descendants are trying to obtain more info. Do you have anything on him? Thanks! Yours truly,
