a#FUTRALFUTRALm#SKITTLETHARPSKITTLETHARPm#WILLIAMSWILLIAMS posted by Melanie Kelley on Sunday, February 8, 1998

I am trying to locate any information that I can on the surname, SKITTLETHARP. According to family history, my ggg grandfather, Noah FUTRAL married Sarah SKITTLETHARP. However I have been unable to find anything on her. I know that in 1829 Noah FUTRAL married Martha WILLIAMS, however at that time, Noah's son, John FUTRAL would have been about 2 years old. Which leads me to believe that it is possible that Noah was first married to Sarah SKITTLETHARP, and that she may have died in child birth, or shortly thereafter. John FUTRAL is Noah's only son, which leads me to believe that Martha may not have been able to have children. If anyone can shed any light on this, I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

m#RUSSELLRUSSELL posted by Nathan C. Prewitt on Sunday, February 8, 1998

RUSSELL, Daniel. I have posted a query about his brother once before but I have found out since that Daniel existed. The only dates I have is his brother birth year 1813 and there was a land transaction between brothers in 1834 I believe. He was born in Onslow county and I would like his dates birth, death, marriage (wife name and children's names dates etc). I am trying to build a bridge to Benjamin W. Russell through his brother, Daniel and his descendents. If you can find out anything on Daniel, Benjamin, and their parents and descendents any any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million in advance.

a#ABERCROMBIEABERCROMBIEa#COWANCOWAN posted by Jim Hightower on Monday, March 9, 1998

I am trying to locate a cemetery in Maple Hill known as Meadow Cemetery. My aunt, Louise ABERCROMBIE COWAN, who was married to Robert Abercrombie was buried there August 13, 1967. She was a nurse and had as a passenger, sheriff Powers wife, Kinchin; both were traveling to work at a nursing home when they were hit head on by two marines from Camp LeJeune. All four died. ( A side note, unrelated, the wife of crime-busting sheriff Buford Pusser (Movie: Walking Tall) of Tennessee, was killed the same day, Saturday, August 12, 1967.) If you know the location of Meadow Cemetery, please leave me a message. Thank you,

a#EVANSEVANSm#SHEPARDSHEPARD posted by Paul Wood on Wednesday, March 11, 1998

I need records showing the names and information about the parents and children of a William EVANS and Elizabeth SHEPARD who married in Onslow Co., North Carolina, 4 May 1830. There are five William EVANS families listed in the 1830 North Carolina census. One of them should be William EVANS I am interested in. The William EVANS family I am interested in is believed to have moved to Alabama before their son Zackary EVANS was born, in 1837. A W. P. EVANS is listed in the 1840 census living in Benton (now Calhoun)Co., Alabama, and is probably my William EVANS family. The family is listed in the 1850 and 1860 census records living in Mississippi. William Peter EVANS (William and Elizabeth EVANS' grandson, and Zachary EVANS' Son), in his obituary, is quoted as stating that his paternal grandfather was a "Scotch-born Schoolmaster". Perhaps he came immegrated to North Carolina after he was born in 1808.

a#HECKSHECKS posted by Peter Simpson on Sunday, March 15, 1998

I am studying the Hecks surname worldwide, but to date have concentrated on England and a little in Europe. I note the name has slaves listed. (in the 1790 Onslow County Census) This could prove a most interesting lead for me and knowing very little about North American genealogical research, I would be most intertested in how this census or in fact that surname may figure in your own interests. Please let me know if you can be of any help. Kind Regards
