The will of Isaac Newton Sanders of Onslow County, North Carolina Transcribed by Sydney "Skippy" Davis from a photocopy obtained from the North Carolina State Archives Effort has been made to preserve original paragraphing, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Names: Isaac N. Sanders - Onslow County planter and senator to the North Carolina Assembly 1864-66 Edward B. Sanders - A son of Isaac N. Sanders John A. Sanders - A brother of Isaac N. Sanders John (H?) Spicer - A friend and alternate executor Daniel W. Russell - Witness to the will Isaac N. Sanders Will 1866 Recorded Page 1 State of No(rth) Carolina Onslow County Know all men by these presents, that I Isaac N Sanders of the County and State aforesd. do hereby ordain and constitute this my last will and testament, That is to say Item 1st I request all my debts to be paid out of such monies and in such way as my Executors, shall be able to raise and in such maner, as to them shall seem proper and rite and the ballance to be divided between my children as my Executors shall think proper and rite. Item 2nd I constitute and appoint my son Edward B. Sanders & my esteem Brother John A. Sanders my sole Executors to this my last will and testament and I do not, wish them, to give any bond, or become bound in any other way for a faithful discharge of there duties more than the oath which they will have to take as required by the act of the Genl Assembly. In case my Brother John cannot qualify nor render no assistance in settling my business then I appoint my friend John (H?) Spicer in his place. In executing this my last will and testament I do hereby revoke all instruments wills and conveyances by me maid heretofore. In testimony whereoff I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 27th day of Sepbember A D 1865. Sanders deceased is exhibited for probate in open court by John A. Sanders and Edward B. Sanders the executors therein named and the due execution thereof by the Said Isaac N. Sanders is proved by the oath and examination of Daniel W. Russell the subscribing witness thereto. It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper Writing is the last Will and testament of the Said Isaac N. Sanders and the same is ordered to be recorded and filed. And thereupon the said John A. Sanders and Edward B. Sanders Executors aforesaid Qualified as Such by taking the oath required by law. A J Johnston, clk
