Obituary of Mark Anthony Purcell Sr ~ 1999

 
Mark Anthony Purcell, Sr., of Sneads Ferry, died Thursday, March 25 (1999), 
at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Purcell was born June 19, 1941, in Flint, MI, the son of the late Alfred 
T. and Bonnie J. Koplen Purcell.

Mr. Purcell served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was employed by 
General Motors for 14 years. He was in the mortgage lending field since 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dianne D. Field Purcell, of the home; three 
children, Mark A. Purcell, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Wilmington, Alfred T. 
Purcell, III and Shannon L. Purcell, both of Asheville; a brother, Robin 
Dockery and wife Debbie, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two sisters, Sandra Sand 
of Lexington, Ohio, and Shawn Dockery of Mentor, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 
Thomas J. Purcell, Nicholas S. Purcell, Brian A. Purcell, Anthony D. Buckner, 
Trisha L. Buckner, Philip A. Purcell, and Samuel Q. Purcell; several cousins; 
and numerous family members.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 30 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead 
Chapel by Dr. Thurman B. Everett.
