Obituary of Jesse Crayton Vail

Jacksonville—Jesse Crayton Vail, 82, of Jacksonville died Tuesday at his home.  
Vail was a member of New River Baptist Church.  He was a 33rd degree mason, 
a Shriner and a member and past master of Semper Fidelis Masonic Lodge No. 
680.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New River Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Paul Fowler and the Rev. Jack Marshburn officiating.  Burial with Masonic 
Rites will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.  Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gray 
Vail of the home; three daughters, Bobbie Vail Morrison of Topsail Beach, Becky 
Vail Honeycutt of Roxboro and Gloria Vail Brown of Trenton; one sister, Virginia 
Finnie of Sulphur, La.; one brother, Warren Daniel Vail of San Antonio, Texas; 
and two grandsons.  The family will receive friends at 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday 
at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be 
made to Christian Child Care of New River, 1310 Hargett St., Jacksonville, N.C. 
28540 or to the N.C. Scottish Rite, Masonic Foundation Inc., 516 Hancock St., 
New Bern, N.C. 28560-4925.
