Obituary of James E "Red" Jarman ~ 2008




 
JACKSONVILLE — James E. "Red" Jarman, 71, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in 
Onslow Memorial Hospital. Services will be conducted at 7 tonight, Oct. 8, 
2008, in Trinity United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 
11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in the Horne family cemetery in Backswamp.

Mr. Jarman was a retired U.S. post master. He worked for the U.S. Postal 
Service for 41 years. He served as president of the National Association of 
Postmasters of the United States. He served and was chapter president of the 
Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International. Mr. Jarman served in the 
National Guard. He served as a lay minister for the United Methodist Church 
for many years and was ordained as a minister of the gospel of Jesus by Agape 
Life Family Church in Jacksonville. He ran the race and finished the course 
and finished strong in Jesus.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Horne Jarman of the home, he was married to 
the love of his life for 50 years; two sons, James E. Jarman II and John H. 
Jarman, both of Jacksonville; daughter, Julia J. McKenzie of Fayetteville; 13 
grandchildren; and brother, Bill Jarman of Richlands. He was preceded in 
death by his brother, Sam Jarman.
