Obituary of Edward Julian Lewis ~ 2008

Edward Julian Lewis, 80, of Sneads Ferry, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at 
Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 13 at Sneads Ferry First United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Ira Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the 
Salem Baptist Church Cemetery 

Born January 5, 1928 in Sneads Ferry, N.C., he was the son of the late Edward 
James and Mamie Elizabeth Williams Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a member of First 
United Methodist Church of Sneads Ferry. He was a commercial fisherman. Mr. 
Lewis was married to the late Ruthele Lewis and was preceded in death by a 
sister, Eileen Webber and three brothers, Herbert Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, and 
Harry Lewis. 

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy L. Kerce of Pelham, GA and Deborah 
Silance of Holly Ridge, NC; four sons, Charles E. Lewis and wife Carol of 
Pelham, GA, Steve Lewis of Charlotte, NC, Jon Lewis and wife Tina of Sneads 
Ferry, NC, and James Lewis of Sneads Ferry, NC; a sister-in-law, Kathryn 
Lewis; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
